For Seattle School Board in District 5
What would I do as your school board director?
1. Find and Evaluate the Superintendent of Schools
2. Oversee Budgets with an equity lens.
3. Authentically Partner with community.
So we can end this cycle of abuse.

Hi I'm Ally!
I am the mother an SPS middle and high schooler.

I'm a filmmaker, education advocate, and work in my kids' schools' library.

I live pay-check to pay-check like the rest of us.
I have mama bear energy for all children.

What is District 5?
D5 is the heart of Seattle with some of the most historic public schools in our city. From Capitol hill to the Central District to Eastlake, this dynamic area is diverse, but changing.
Multilingual learners, LGBTQ families, and a mix of economic classes, D5 is home families that depend on our public schools.

With diversity under threat by gentrification and privatization, our unique eco-system needs a community leader.

A Dysfunctional Relationship
Families have been in a dysfunctional abusive relationship with this district for too long. When I enrolled my kids in SPS 10 years ago, I felt it then and I see it clear now.

How can we trust an institution that breaks its promises, threatens devastating closures without a clear plan, and refuses to truly prioritize the most vulnerable.
Low enrollment is a symptom, the everlasting budget crisis is a symptom, and we need a diagnosis this at its roots.

We need leaders who are not afraid to say the hard truth and then stand by it.
