Lived Experience:

My background, as a child who had to grow up faster than any child should, gave me a protective nature over kids and their childhood.

As I was raised and cared for, it was my community of friends, teachers and adults who showed me I matter and encouraged me to dream bigger for myself.

Community works when resources aren't siloed, it works when multiple perspectives are respected, and when community works children don't go hungry. They dream courageously and audaciously.

In my 10 years of guiding my own children through SPS, I have built on my relationships with families, school staff, and students across the city. The story is the same everywhere. The district has has created a toxic climate and the budget reflects that.

I come from the school of thought: "leave it better than you found it" and this is my swing to do just that. My family is set to graduate from SPS in the next 6 years, so I want to leave this district better than I found it.

That is my goal for the next 4 years, if you elect me as your District 5 School Board Director.  â€‹â€‹â€‹â€‹
